You will commence your cycling time in the outskirt of Yangon, learning about local life and market before you journey to Shan state, kick off your pedal to Taunggyi mountain and verdant valley of Inle Lake. The following days in Kalaw will expose you the signature of colonial architecture with fascinating hamlets of imagination. Finally, taking your bike through the royal trail from Mandalay to Bagan, covering some of the most amazing ancient capital of formerly Burma Kingdom.

Itinerary

Welcome to the golden land or Burma! Our guide and driver will greet you at Yangon airport for the hotel transfer. The remainder of the day is for your leisure. For your first evening, we will enjoy a delightful dinner with cultural show in Karaweik Palace by the royal lake of Kandawgyi.

Spend your day biking out of Yangon to see people in their farm, visit village school and get fun with the children. Our guide will take you to the ceramic village of Twante where you will see the real product of the area. The highlight of the day is the tea house where you enjoy the tea like local.

Spend 2 hours to visit Shwedagon pagoda this morning. This is the most giant pagoda, decorated by gold and diamond in Burma. After that, we leave the city for the flight to Shan State. A followed transfer through the sublime area, full of mountain and verdant plantation brings us to Inle Lake where our styled boat trip commences. Enjoy the spectacular of Inle lake with our guide, travelling throught floating garden, stilted villages and different traditional workshops.

Today, we depart by car to Kakku, a lesser known but impressive site comprised of several thousand small stupas in the Pa O region. From here, we’ll start cycling toward Inle Lake with a wonderful descent dropping nearly 2,000 feet to the lake basin. After lunch on the lake, loading our bikes onto our boat, cruising across Inle Lake, passing stilted villages with their unique floating gardens. In this area, we head through villages by the lakeside to observe the local life and get fun with the children.

Kalaw is a cool retreat for Burmese people which reflects the colonial charm and exotic tribal life. After breakfast, we explore the Nyang Shwe town and proceed to the road to Kalaw. The landscapes change vividly as we ascend the mountain to reach this hill station. Depending on our arrival time, we can see the demonstration of British house and garden in the area.

The road turns to be more tranquil today, flanked with incredible views to mountains. Villages on the way will attract your visit and to mingle with the local. Once we are in Pindaya, enjoy a trek to visit the sacred cave with hundreds of Buddha status.

The longest travel day of our biking trip toward northwest on a recently-paved, rolling road through mountains and jungle-lined roads to Kyaukse where the bus will transfer us the remaining distance “on the road to Mandalay.” Mandalay is the historic old capital, but remains the center of Myanmar culture and religion. It is also where traditional arts and crafts are centered. Myanmar abounds with historical sites, cultural memorials and Buddhist monuments and we will explore some of them after arrival. In the evening, enjoy dinner overlooking the Ayeyarwaddy River.

Our first destination of the day is Inwa, the former capital of Burma kingdom under the reign of King Thihathu from XIII to XIX centry. Here, you have a chance to see the longest teakwood bridge in the world, learning about the glory of Inwa and see hundreds of monks studying and having meal. We continue our trip this afternoon with a visit to Kuthodow pagoda, litterally named the biggest book in the world for 729 scupltures stored in small, styled stupas. The Royal Palace will also provide you an insight vision of the last Burma Imperial life. Sunset from Mandalay hill will be your highlight of the day.

After breakfast, our driver takes us to Ondaw. Our biking trip brings us into the desert landscapes and heartland of central Myanmar where bullock carts outnumber cars. There are several interesting sites to behold on the way to the provincial capital of Monywa including a pagoda with over 300,000 Buddha images and a monumental reclining Buddha.

The ancient volcanic mountain of Popa is known as the best place for meditation in Burma and an intriguing place to go green with Popa national park. Our leisurely biking today takes us to the foot hill of Popa Kalat Monastery where a short climb opens a great view to us.

The road from Popa to Bagan is stuffed with palm forest, peanut plantation and numerous pagodas, especially when you reach Bagan. The other interesting feature of our bike this day is the route along Chindwin river and Irrawaddy river with incredible vistas of the areas. Today, we will enjoy a sunset cruise before resting in Bagan.

With over forty square kilometers and thousands of pagodas, Bagan is nothing short of breath taking. We’ll cycle the ancient plain, pausing to explore primary and secondary temples. You are also invited to visit Manuha village to know about local weaving technique and see how they make peanut oil. Taking a flight from Bagan back to Yangon.

Enjoy your Yangon city tour with a styled rishaw trip to venture into Yangon centre including Sule pagoda, China Town, Indian streets. Rest at your leisure or do shopping at Scott market until our driver picks you up for your departure flight
